5 Low Effort After School Activities

5 Low Effort After School Activities

Save these for after school walks when you need calm! We tend to mix all 5 activities into our walks.
1. Nature Treasure Hunt: Set a task of finding an item. Expand on this and ask them to find a texture like a smooth or rough object. For older kids ask them to find something abstract like something that makes them feel happy and ask why.
2. Collect leaves: Set this up as a longer activity, collect leaves to make a leaf rubbing at home. Look for colourful leaves and try to match the colours.
3. Conker picking: always a winner in autumn after school.
4. Tree climbing: combine with the other activities listed to spend more time outdoors and burn off energy.
5. Animal hunt: look under leaves, in tight crevices and flip rocks. Great for bugs and if your kid is reluctant, you can look for birds.
